I’m not sure when you wrote this for Uruguay but there is no need for a tourist visa to visit Uruguay. I spent a month there and just needed my passport. Also, most types of business acquisitions by expats the taxes are waived for a period of time, and you do not have to already be a permanent resident to assume an existing business. Just thought I’d let you know, some of the info evidently has changed.

Hi Twyla, thanks for your comment. I have reviewed the info and corrected this – in fact, I ended up rewriting and updating both the Visa and Business sections. While you didn’t receive any physical visas for your stay in Uruguay, it still means you were “issued” a virtual tourist visa in the system there (I hope that makes sense).

Hi Thusitha, thanks for stopping by. I am not an immigration lawyer – please direct all personal applications etc. to their respective organizations. I have removed most of your comment as it contains personal information.
